Day Four (Wynn)

Choppy action at the Wynn on Friday afternoon. Played at 4 different tables including one terrible 2/5NL (grinder central). The last table was pretty soft though.

Wynn 1/3NL: 3h30m +4
Wynn 2/5NL: 1h5m +189

First time seeing this. Popeye is awesome!

AYCE sushi at Jjanga Japanese Restaurant. Good food, even better service!

Day Three (Wynn, Treasure Island)

Back to my regular office! Good results.

Pretty dirty beat I witnessed at my table. It was for a small pot, but still pretty sick. I've been on the winning and losing end of bottom set turning into quads, both times for ~600bb pots. If you play long enough, you'll see ridiculous things like this and might not even be affected anymore (though it still sucks when losing).

Wynn 1/3NL: 5h35m +616

I normally don't leave when I'm profiting at a table (usually stay until I put in my hours for the day). The game was shorthanded and became pretty bad though, so I left. Decided to drop by Treasure Island. Pretty soft game with some action. It's usually a nit fest (and half the table was), though some players made the game pretty good. Picked up a few bucks.

Pretty cool Corvette

Day Two (Luxor, Rio)

Not quite the results I was looking for. Can't say there was any lack of action though. My highlight of the day was getting carded twice.

Luxor 1/2NL: 2h25min -507
Rio 1/3NL: 1h15m +9
Rio 2/5NL: 2h10m -1145
Rio 5/10NL: 2h10m -2000

Turkey sandwich from Dairy Queen

Not playing that well "on the road." I will go back to where I am most comfortable playing, otherwise known as home court advantage.

Net 2/5NL : -892 Net 5/10NL: -2000

Day One (Aria, Bellagio, Rio)

Woke up pretty early and got a large Spicy Sriracha Burger combo from Jack in the Box. Fed some to the birds as well. Went to MGM Grand and Monte Carlo afterwards though didn't feel like waiting for a seat. Saw "Hershey's Chocolate World" under construction at New York New York. Seems pretty cool.

Aria 2/5NL: 2h20m -6
Bellagio 1/3NL: 2h5m -89

Went to Sonic for my lunch break. Got a Chicken Toaster combo:

Rio cash games were pretty much as expected -- a more extreme mix of skilled/recreational players compared to the common year-round games. My play was very questionable yet still turned a small profit. A couple of the dealers could use a little more professionalism, but for the most part, the staff was courteous/well run for how busy it was (at least in the room near the buffet).

Rio 1/3NL: 3h40m +7
Rio 2/5NL: 2h25m +259

Rough start for the series. Could be worse though (it can always be worse). Gotta try harder!

Net 1/3NL: -82
Net 2/5NL : +253

Prequel

I've ran pretty good and played well (for the most part) so far this year. The graph shown is my net profit after 406 hours of playing mainly 1/3NL, mixed in with some 1/2NL, 2/5NL, and 5/10NL

I took quite a bit of time off towards the end of last year as I was running bad and playing even worse. -16k+ downswing over 521 hours with only ~3k of that at 5/10NL. That's pretty bad. I'm relieved that I have since recovered from what was the second largest downswing of my poker career. A short break does wonders!

I haven't played much this month as I am purposely taking it easy to get ready for the WSOP. I plan on putting in lots of volume, preferably 60-70 hrs/wk throughout the series. Mainly cash games throughout the city and at least one of the 1k events next month. I'm curious to see how the "rare" games are that barely/never run throughout the year at the smaller rooms, ie. 5/10NL at Mandalay Bay or 2/5NL at Excalibur. I will probably do some sort of Vegas poker tour. It should be pretty interesting.
